Tandem Health secures $100M to expand AI tools for European

Tandem Health has secured $100 million in its Series B funding round, increasing its total capital to $160 million. The investment was spearheaded by Scaleup Europe Fund, managed by EQT, alongside contributions from existing investors Kinnevik, Northzone, Amino Collective, and Visionaries.
The company specializes in AI solutions for European healthcare providers, offering tools such as an AI-powered scribe that transforms clinical discussions into organized records, a coding assistant, voice dictation systems, and decision support applications. Its platform assists medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, mental health specialists, physiotherapists, and dentists, across 14 European countries.
With the new capital, Tandem plans to expand its technology’s reach and transition from an AI medical assistant to a full clinic management system.
Dr. Katie Baker, Tandem’s UK director, highlighted that successful adoption, not just acquisition, is key to clinical integration. The company employs over 75 clinicians to refine its products, ensuring practical usability. “We have more than 75 clinicians on staff building and delivering these tools, and that’s where we invest hardest, because clinical AI succeeds or fails on adoption, not on procurement,” she said.

Recent regulatory progress has reinforced Tandem’s position in the market. In the past six months, the company has secured EU MDR Class IIa certification for three medical devices, in June for its Clinical Decision Support tool, in May for its AI Medical Scribe, and in February for its Coding Assistant. These solutions assist clinicians in documenting patient visits, proposing diagnoses, and simplifying administrative processes.
Tandem also expanded its operations through acquisition. In January, it acquired Juvoly, a Dutch AI scribe used in primary care, hospitals, and local governments. This acquisition strengthened Tandem’s presence in the Netherlands and incorporated Juvoly’s expertise into its broader ecosystem.
Other companies in the market include France-based Nabla, UK-based Tortus, and Denmark-based Corti.
In 2022, Tandem raised $50 million in Series A funding, also led by Kinnevik and the same investor group. The latest funding round signals growing trust in AI-driven solutions for improving healthcare efficiency, particularly in Europe, where administrative burdens remain a persistent challenge.
