The protein drinks are now available at all Caffè Nero outlets across the UK.

Myprotein has partnered with Caffè Nero to bring two protein-rich iced drinks to the United Kingdom, while also launching a Krispy Kreme-inspired milkshake across the UK and Europe. The first offering is an Iced Vanilla Protein Latte that supplies a full 25 grams of protein per serving, and the second is an Iced Vanilla Protein Matcha Latte that delivers 24 grams of protein. Both beverages are now sold at every Caffè Nero outlet in the UK.

Each drink contains fewer than 160 calories, and they are promoted as some of the most protein-dense beverages available on the high street. This collaboration marks the inaugural joint product line between Myprotein and Caffè Nero, with additional recipes slated for announcement in January 2027.

Market Response and Consumer Demand

Neil Mistry, chief executive of THG Nutrition, explained that protein has become a daily habit for many people, and adding it to coffee feels like a natural next step. He added that protein lattes have already gained traction in the United States, and that British consumers are increasingly mixing protein powder into their home-brewed coffee.

Caffè Nero reports that iced beverages now represent 14.7% of its total drinks sales, up from 8.1% five years ago, and that sales of these cold drinks grew 52% during the most recent fiscal year. Lysa Hardy, chief executive of Caffè Nero UK, said the new menu items answer a rising demand for high-protein drinks.

The partnership blends Caffè Nero’s specialty coffee and matcha with Myprotein’s nutrition expertise, a combination Hardy described as a strong alliance. Data from the brand indicates that sports-protein ready-to-drink launches have risen 50% annually from July 2021 to June 2026, and that high-protein claims have driven the newest sports-nutrition products in the latest year.

Krispy Kreme Milkshake and Product Expansion

This shake supplies 20 grams of protein per serving and contains 116 calories while remaining low-fat content. It is sold online in the UK and Europe, and distribution is expanding to more than 730 Boots locations across the UK, with a planned rollout in the United States through GNC in 2026.

Myprotein says the partnership with Krispy Kreme is just the beginning of a broader series of co-branded products. Future releases will feature Protein Blend dairy powders in Original Glazed, Chocolate Iced, and Strawberry Iced donut flavors, each delivering the same protein quantity and 140 calories without added sugar.

Category Evolution and Strategic Partnerships

Mistry emphasized that the protein category has moved into mainstream food and beverage shelves, and that shoppers now expect to encounter protein products wherever they shop. This outlook guides the brand’s simultaneous online and in-store launch strategy in the United Kingdom, with plans to expand globally.

This ready-to-drink line targets consumers interested in health-focused functional beverages, offering a clear whey option for those who prefer alternatives to traditional milky shakes.
